ARNHEM, Netherlands (Reuters) – A Dutch zoo has introduced that it obtained an Easter reward – a child rhinoceros born on the morning of April 4.
Spokesman Bas Lukkenaar of the Royal Burgers’ Zoo in Arnhem, Netherlands, stated the newborn rhino appeared “vigorous” and was estimated to weigh about 50 kg (120 kilos).
“We’re very delighted to have a younger male,” he stated. “The mom seems to be very skilled, very quiet, so it’s an excellent signal.”
The infant was given the title “Douwe”, a typical Dutch title.
The rhino is of the sq. lipped or white rhinoceros breed, which is the most typical of surviving rhinoceros species however nonetheless endangered.
